Car sales and enquiries surge on Black Friday

Car dealers across the UK saw a one-day spike in sales on Black Friday.
The number of vehicle sales completed on Friday 25 November – 'Black Friday' – was 23% higher than on Friday 18 November and 17% higher than on 11 November, according to analysis of sales data carried out by by Dealerweb, the showroom management system provider.
Vehicle enquiries were also up on the day, with dealers seeing 5% more enquiries on Black Friday than on 18 November and 15% more than 11 November.
James Hill, sales operations director at Dealerweb, said: "These results suggest many dealers carried out extremely effective marketing campaigns.
"Given the greater increase in sales than enquiries, existing sales opportunities were maximised, with Black Friday offers really paying dividends.
""Black Friday is a unique one-day sales opportunity, but sales teams must be able to effectively and efficiently manage every lead, year-round," he said.
This year on the accessories side Halfords and Euro Car Parts were offering big deals on Black Friday.
On the car front Auto Express detailed the deals on offer from carmakers including Ford, Nissan, Infiniti and Renault.
It cited Clio models on sales with up to £2,500 off, the new Megane was available with up to £1,850 off list price. Captur and Kadjar models also have significant and Renault offered 0% APR on finance deals for all four of these cars.
